Ameer Sultan is an Indian film director, producer and actor, working in the Tamil film industry. He has directed four films and was critically acclaimed for three of them, the romantic comedy Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002), the mystery thriller Raam (2005) and the drama Paruthiveeran (2007). He made his acting debut in Yogi (2009).
Ameer Sultan was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu India. He initially studied economics and worked as an entrepreneur before starting to work as an assistant director to Tamil filmmaker Bala on his award winning film Sethu in 1999.

Vikraman made his debut with the movie Pudhu Vasantham, a story of four unemployed friends who are musical experts. This movie released in 1989 was successful. Its hero Murali went on to become a famous romantic actor who donned the mike-wielding singer role in subsequent movies. The trio of Vikraman-S.A.Rajkumar-R.B.Choudari came commercially successful. But a flop in Pudhiya Mannargal forced him to go back. He worked as an assistant to actor cum director R. Parthiban in Pudhea Paadhai, which was the latter's debut film as a director and an actor.
