Rekha, also known as Akshara, is an Indian film actress, who predominantly acts in Kannada films and also appears in Tamil and Telugu films. While pursuing modelling, she made her acting debut in the 2001 Kannada film Chitra and has since starred in over 30 films in various South Indian languages.


Rekha was born and brought up in Bangalore, Karnataka. She did her schooling at the Basava Residential Girls School in Kengeri, Bangalore. She was doing her BBA correspondence course from the University of Madras, while modelling part-time and trying to pursue an acting career. She was eventually signed by Jayashree Devi for the Ramoji Rao-produced college drama Chitra, in which she played a NRI student. The same year, she starred in Huchcha, a Kannada remake of Sethu alongside Sudeep and made her debut in Telugu cinema with Sreenu Vaitla's Anandam, all three ventures becoming commercially successful. and the Telugu film Dongodu featuring Ravi Teja in the lead, while making her Tamil debut with Sabapathy's triangular love story Punnagai Poove. 2003 she also had her first and till date only Hindi release, Mudda with Arya Babbar and was seen in a supporting role in the female-oriented Three Roses that featured Rambha, Jyothika and Laila Mehdin in the lead. She was paired with Ganesh in his first feature film appearance in Chellata as well as in Hudugaata the next year, both emerging commercial successes. Kalaiyarasan, a graduate in Computer Applications from SRM University, initially began work as an actor with Parthy Bhaskar's Arjunan Kadhali in 2008, but the film remains unreleased. He then worked with director Myshkin on two ventures, Nandalala (2010) and Mugamoodi (2012), and credits the film maker as his mentor. He also played small roles in Ranjith's directorial debut Attakathi (2012), playing the suitor to the heroine, as well as in Vikram Sugumaran's Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013).

Kalaiyarasan's breakthrough as an actor came through his performance in Ranjith's drama film Madras (2014), where he portrayed the pivotal role of Anbu. Set in the backdrop of North Chennai, Kalaiyarasan auditioned and cleared three screen tests before being handed the role and worked closely with the film's lead actor Karthi in order to shown their on-screen camaraderie. Upon release in September 2014, the film became a commercial and critical acclaimed success, while Kalaiyarasan's portrayal won unanimous praise. A critic from Behindwoods.com noted Kalaiyarasan "steals the show and this has to be his lifetime role", adding that "the youngster has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and we have to laud director Ranjith for giving this dynamic performer good scope to showcase his wares". Similarly Sify.com added that his performance is "riveting" and that "his body language and dialogue delivery in almost a parallel role is terrific.

Satish Chakravarthy is an engineer by education, having graduated from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli but subsequently went on to Berklee College of Music, Massachusetts. He has worked under A. R. Rahman since 2006 in a dozen films as a musician, before making his debut as a music composer in Leelai.

He was approached by T. Siva, a close family friend, to work in Kanimozhi as the producer had liked his work in Leelai and felt he had the potential. Notably, Siva's first production had music scored by Satish's father.
