Tamannaah was also selected but she rejected due to her commitment to other films.Santhanam will play a prominent role. Nassar is considered for the role of the father.
Harris Jayaraj and the director of the film have headed to Turkey for composing sessions. 2 songs for the film were recorded by early May 2012.Lisa Hayden who had been approached for a role in this flick was no longer doing that role due to date clashes. Andrea Jeremiah took up the role.

A single track from the album titled \\\"Vaan Engum Nee Minna\\\" was released on the 18th of October ,becoming an instant hit and receiving positive reviews from critics and audience. The album is scheduled to be released by Kamal Hassan on 24th of October 2013.
