Sangamithra is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic historical action comedy film co written and directed by Sundar C. Actors Jayam Ravi and Arya are on board to play the main leads while A. R. Rahman is composing the film's music and Sudeep Chatterjee is doing the cinematography.
It was announced in June 2016 that director Sundar C. is doing a film to be bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films, which will mark their 100th production venture.
It has been confirmed that A. R. Rahman, Sabu Cyril and VFX expert Kamalakannan are working on the film along with cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee, who previously worked on the Hindi film Bajirao Mastani was too confirmed for this gargantuan project.
Vijay was originally considered for a lead role, but had to refuse the project because it needed approximately 250 days to produce.
Sources confirmed that Jayam Ravi and Arya would play the film's heroes.
The production was officially confirmed on 28 December 2016 by Sri Thenandal Films.
