The film, which also had Murali making a special appearance, released on August 6, 2010 to positive reviews and his performance was praised, especially Sify wrote: "makes a promising debut and he dances and emotes well". A month after the film's release, tragedy struck Atharva as his father, Murali, deceased of a heart attack.

Gautham Menon had previously shown interest in directing Adharavaa for a film. Year later, his next release was Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal where he played a youngster suffering from hallunication, film did well and his performance was well received.  His Recent movie is Paradesi under the direction of Bala.

She made her debut in Malayalam in 2007, starring in Rock & Roll opposite Mohanlal. She was noticed by the film field although film was a commercial failure. She followed it up with several successful films such as Annan Thambi, Harihar Nagar (2009), Evidam Swargamanu (2009) opposite Mohanlal, and Chattambinadu (2009) opposite Mammootty. She appeared in three Tamil films in 2009, Muthirai, Vaamanan and Naan Avanillai. In Vaamanan, she played a glamourous supermodel.  In 2010, she was seen in three films. She made special appearances during song sequences in two of them, In Ghost House Inn and Pen Singam and portrayed a cowgirl in the Tamil western adventure film Irumbukkottai Murattu Singam.

Lakshmi Rai's first 2011 release was Christian Brothers opposite Mohanlal, which was a high commercial success. Her next two films were Tamil projects, the comedy horror Kanchana and the Venkat Prabhu-directed action thriller Mankatha, starring Ajith Kumar. She essayed a negative character in the latter, which was received positively by critics. Both films emerged high financial success. Following Kanchana's success, she was signed on to reprise the role in its Kannada remake too. Her latest release Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P. Madhavan Nairum opposite Mohanlal is declared superhit by trade.[citation needed] The year 2012 will see the release of the film Casanovva., Mayamohini, Adhinayakudu, Kalpana, and Thaandavam.

Janani Iyer was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India into a Tamil family. Brought up in Chennai as well, she studied at D.A.V. School in Gopalapuram and later completed engineering in computer science at Saveetha Engineering College in Chennai.

After her studies, she ventured into modelling and appeared in over 150 regional television advertisements. However, she said, she always dreamt of becoming an actress, considering acting to be her  passion in life. During her modelling career, she appeared in insignificant cameo roles in Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru (2009) and Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010).

In early 2010, following the recommendation of director A. L. Vijay, Janani went to audition for director Bala, who was looking for a Tamil-speaking new face for the lead female character in his new film project, Avan Ivan. Upon seeing her audition, Bala signed her for the role, saying he felt that she fits into the role.The comedy-drama film, which also starred Arya, Vishal Krishna and Madhu Shalini, featured Janani in the role of an innocent police constable. Her next release was Paagan, in which she was paired opposite Srikanth. A critic from sify wrote,  Janani Iyer looks beautiful and it is a relief to watch a Tamil girl speaking in her own voice.
