Raja Rani is an upcoming Tamil romantic comedy film directed by debutant Atlee Kumar, who previously worked with Shankar as an assistant in Enthiran 2010 and produced by A. R. Murugadoss in association with Fox Star Studios. The film features Arya, Jai, Nayantara, Sathyaraj, Santhanam and Nazriya Nazim in the lead roles. It received 'U' Certificate from Central Board of Film Certification. The film is scheduled to release on 27 September 2013.

Atlee Kumar, an assistant director to Shankar, narrated his script to Murugadoss in early 2012 and the pair agreed to make a film featuring Arya and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Atlee Kumar, who had worked under director Shankar for Enthiran and Nanban will turn a director with his film Raja Rani starring Arya, Nayanthara, Jai, Sathyaraj and Nazriya Nazim in the lead roles. Shanthanoo Bhagyaraj is a Tamil film actor. He is the son of actor and director K. Bhagyaraj. He debuted as a lead actor in the film Sakkarakatti in 2008.


He has acted as a child artist in his father's film Vettiya Madichu Kattu. He was also an assistant director in his sister, Saranya Bhagyaraj's debut, Parijatham. He then made his acting debut in Sakkarakatti, produced by S. Thanu and directed by Kala Prabhu which flopped at the box office, the song Taxi Taxi composed by A. R. Rahman was a chartbuster. He is more than promising- he’s star material, and he’ll survive this wreck", while Sify said: "Shantanoo has that star quality to him which is so rare to find these days. But he is wasted in a role in which he just romance his heroines and dances", Nowrunning said: "Shanthanoo is fairly convincing as a cool college dude who metro audiences would love. He has not much to do beyond hanging out with his friends and cuddling the two heroines. Though the young hero seems bubbly, Prabhu is not able to tap his potential". His next venture is Angel John, his debut film in Malayalam in which shared screen space with Mohanlal, In this film he played a youth who fedup of life tries to commit suicide but god saves and helps him. The film flopped. His next film was Siddu +2 which was directed by his father. The film didn't do well at the box-office, his performance is somewhat well received. In 2011, his next release was Kanden which managed to do well, he had another release in 2011, Aayiram Vilakku in which he played an ordinary boy by shedding his chocolate boy image. Next he did Ammavin Kaipesi which got positive response. Currently, he is doing Amali Thumali with Nakul and Telugu film Love in Hyderabad which is a remake of his own Tamil film 'Siddu +2' and Vaaimai. He has stated that he is yet to achieve stardom.

Arun Mohan debuted as a director with the film Sarabham that was released in 2014. He was a former associate of director Gautham Menon and is the son of veteran actor and comedian Anu Mohan. Sarabham had Naveen chandra and Salony in the lead and it was produced by C.V.Kumar.

Nikesha Patel is a British Indian model and film actress. Born in the United Kingdom, she was part of several BBC TV shows, before moving to India and entering the film industry. She debuted in the 2010 Telugu film Puli and later went on to work in Kannada and Tamil cinema.

She had stated in 2012 that she would make her Malayalam debut in Newsmaker opposite Mammootty, playing a reporter. She was also reported to have been signed for Rosshan Andrrews' Malayalam film Mumbai Police.[8] While the former did not materialize, the latter film did not feature her.


Patel started working in the Tamil film industry too. Her first Tamil offer was Amali Thumali (initially titled as Nanba) opposite Nakul which she said "did not come through", but she was signed for another Tamil film opposite Nakul titled Narathan. She has been signed for two more Tamil projects besides Narathan, Yennamo Yedho co-starring Gautham Karthik and Rakul Preet Singh and Thalaivan. She has signed her next films in Kannada, Namaste Madam opposite Srinagar Kitty  and in Telugu, RUM, directed and produced by MS Raju.
