Seema is an Indian actress.  She has performed in approximately 250 films in Malayalam, nine in Tamil, seven in Telugu, three in Kannada and one in Hindi. Seema is still active in the movie industry.  She began her career in Tamil film at the age of fourteen as a dancer. She debuted as an actress in director Lisa Baby's Nizhale Nee Sakshi but this film was shelved. (It was later completed with Vidhubala as heroine.) Veteran actor Vijayan rechristened her Seema during the filming of Nizhale Nee Sakshi.

At the age of 19, Seema starred as the heroine in her first movie in Malayalam titled Avalude Ravukal (Her Nights), directed by I. V. Sasi.  Seema acted in a large number of movies with Jayan, one of the top actors of the time and the pair was one of the most popular in Kerala. Seema brought fashionable western dresses such as miniskrts, bell bottom pants and sleevless T-shirts into the mainstream in Malayalam Cinema, at a time where Saree and Blouse was the de facto way of dressing for herioines in Malayalam movies. She continued acting till 1988 awhen she took a break after the Malayalam movie Mahayaanam. Seema became active again in 1998 in Olympiyan Anthony Adam. Seema won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress in 1984 and in 1985, and is known for her versatility. Vishudha Shanthi, a biography on her life was published by Didi Damodaran, a famous writer, in 2011.  She well known for her character Nachiyar in Sun TV serial Thangam. She achieved the Lifetime achievement award at the 59th Idea Filmfare festival at Chennai.

Personal life

Seema was born as only child to Chennai settled Malayali parents, Madhavan Nambiar and Vasanthy, at Purasawalkam, Chennai. Her father was from Thalassery and mother was from Ambalamedu, Thrippunithura. Her father was working with T.V.S Parcel Service, Madras. He divorced her mother and left when she was 7 years old and remarried later. She grew up at Choolaimedu, Kodambakkam with her mother. She has two younger step brothers and a younger step-sister, Lakshmi.  She had her primary education from P.N. Dhawan Adarsh Vidyalaya, Chennai.

She is married to famous Malayalam movie director I.V. Sasi on 28 August 1980. The couple have a daughter Anu Milan and a son Ani sasi. Anu has acted in Sasi's movie Symphony.

Veteran actor Vijayan gave her the name Seema.

Jackie Shroff is an Indian actor. He has been in the Hindi cinema (Bollywood) industry for almost 3 decades and has appeared in over 151 films in Nine languages (Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi and Oriya) .

They jointly owned 10% shares in Sony TV since its launch and in 2012 decided to sell their stake and end their 15-year-long association with Sony TV. The Shroffs have two children: a son, Tiger (Jai Hemant), and a daughter, Krishna.


Since the late 1990s, Shroff seems to have moved away from lead roles in Hindi movies and has been seen more often in strong character roles.



In 1978, Shroff made his acting debut in Dev Anand's movie, Swami Dada. In 1983, Subhash Ghai cast him in lead role for the movie, Hero, in which he was paired against Meenakshi Seshadri and the film went on to become a success. Later, Shroff continued to work in Subhash Ghai movies, irrespective of any role that was offered. After hero he did several others films among which Andar Baahar and Yudh were successful. In 1987 he did Karma which became the highest grossing film of 1987. His another film released after that was Kaash for which he gained huge critical acclaims. His films like Dehleez and Sachche Ka Bol Bala were also critically acclaimed but a commercial flop. He then gave award winning performance in 1989 hit film Parinda, for which he won his first filmfare award for best actor. After that he did films like Ram Lakhan, Hum Bhi Insaan Hain, Tridev, Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, 100 Days, Saudagar, Angaar, Aaina and Khalnayak, which were commercially successful. He worked with Amitabh Bachchan in 1990 film Akayla, but the movie didn't do well. Shroff also gained huge critical acclaims for his performance in Gardish. After 1995 his films were not doing well. In 1997 he was seen in Agni Sakshi, which was successful. Since then, he was seen in many films either in character role or in negative role.

In a career spanning almost three decades, Priyadarshan has directed over 90 films in several Indian languages, predominantly in Malayalam and Hindi languages, besides making six films in Tamil and two in Telugu. Though Priyadarshan began his career in Malayalam cinema in 1984, he has been mainly active in Bollywood (Hindi cinema) during 2001-2010. He has done about 26 films in Hindi alone, the highest number of films done by a Bollywood director after David Dhawan. In 2013, he announced Rangrezz would be his last Hindi film for a while, and he is shifting focus to Malayalam cinema.

As of 2010 he is a part of the Airtel Super Singer and Josco Indian Voice-Mazhavil Manorama shows where he provides voice training to the contestants.Vaidyanathan was born in Jamshedpur and began studying music at a young age. He earned an MBA from XLRI and then joined the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. He began giving voice lessons in 2003 and training to contestants on various Indian TV shows in 2007.
