K. Shankar was a veteran film editor and director, born on Mar 17, 1926 in Malabar (now Kerala, in India). He directed more than 80 films in all the South Indian languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada as well as in Hindi.

Shankar started his film career as an editor at the popular AVM studios, before moving into film direction. His first directorial was a Sinhalese movie, "Doctor." He has directed three Chief Ministers MGR ("Adimaipen" and "Kudiyiruntha Koil"); N.T. Rama Rao ("Bhookailash") and Jayalalithaa ("Gowri Kalyanam").

On later years, he directed devotional films such as "Thai Mookambigai" and "Varuvan Vadivelan." He got the State Government's Raja Sandow award from Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

V K Ramasamy was an Indian film actor, comedian and producer who was known for the supporting roles he played in Tamil films in the years between the 1950s and 1990s.
