Rakul Preet Singh is an Indian film actress and model who predominantly works in Telugu film industry.  She has also appeared in a few Tamil, Hindi and Kannada films.

Rakul started a modelling career while in college, during which she also made her acting debut in the Kannada film Gilli (2009). In 2011, she participated in the Femina Miss India pageant in which she was placed fifth and won five pageant titles, including 'Miss India People’s Choice'.  She subsequently opted to become a full-time actress, making her Telugu debut in Keratam the same year and her Tamil debut in Thadaiyara Thaakka, the following year. In 2014 she also made her Bollywood debut in Yaariyan in which her performance was better received.

Singh was part of the commercially successful Telugu films like Venkatadri Express (2013), Current Theega (2014) and Loukyam (2014), leading her to land in bigger projects in the industry like Kick 2 (2015), Bruce Lee (2015), Nannaku Prematho (2016), Sarrainodu (2016) and Dhruva (2016).

Early life

Born in a Punjabi family in New Delhi, Rakul did her schooling from Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan and later studied Mathematics at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi.  She has been an active golf player and played nationals.

Career

Debut and struggles (2009–14)

Rakul, who said that she had always dreamt of being an actress, began her career in modelling at age 18 while she was still in college.  In 2009 she made her acting debut in the Kannada film, Gilli, a remake of Selvaraghavan's 7G Rainbow Colony.  She stated that she signed up the film "with the aim to earn a little extra pocket money" and that she was unaware "how big south Indian films were".  She won critical acclaim for her role in the film before returning to complete her degree and compete in the 2011 Femina Miss India pageant.  Apart from the Miss India Poll, Rakul won four subtitles at the pageant including Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face, Femina Miss Talented, Femina Miss Beautiful Smile and Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes.

She returned to films in 2011, featuring opposite debutant Siddharth Rajkumar in Keratam, though critics noted that she "got very little screen time".  The film was also made in Tamil simultaneously with the same cast but a different director as Yuvan, though the film is yet to release.  In 2012, she appeared in a supporting role in the Tamil film Thadaiyara Thaakka.  2013 she was seen in two films, Puthagam in Tamil and Venkatadri Express in Telugu, the latter becoming a commercial success and earning her a Best Actress nomination at the 61st Filmfare Awards South.

In 2014, Rakul debuted in a starring role in Bollywood with Divya Kumar's directorial debut Yaariyan, after which her third Tamil film Yennamo Yedho released. By mid-2014, she was working on four Telugu films simultaneously, which were directed by Sriwaas, G. Nageswara Reddy, Srinivas Reddy and Gopichand Malineni, respectively. Sriwaas' Loukyam and G. Nageswara Reddy's Current Theega were her next releases. She received positive reviews for her performances in both films, with 123telugu.com going on to claim that she was "slowly becoming a star actress".  Her next released film was Pandaga Chesko.

Public recognition and success (2015–present)

Rakul was then selected as the female lead in half-a-dozen, four of which are high-profile Telugu films: Surender Reddy's Kick 2 opposite Ravi Teja, Srinu Vaitla's Bruce Lee opposite Ram Charan, Sukumar's Nannaku Prematho opposite Jr. Ntr and Boyapati Srinu's Sarrainodu opposite Allu Arjun. She also has a Hindi film, Ramesh Sippy's Shimla Mirchi, coming up.

In January 2016 she signed a film under the direction of Boyapati Srinu opposite Bellamkonda Sreenivas for which she charged ?1.5 crore (US$220,000). In February 2016 she signed Surender Reddy's Dhruva starring opposite Ram Charan for the second time.

In early March 2016 she signed Gopichand Malineni's untitled film starring opposite Sai Dharam Tej for the first time.  In early July 2016, she signed AR Murugadoss bilingual film opposite Mahesh Babu, replacing Parineeti Chopra as the latter could not adjust her dates.  In August 2016, she signed Thupparivaalan which marks her comeback to Tamil cinema after two years.  In September 2016 she signed another Telugu film directed by Kalyan Krishna starring opposite Naga Chaitanya.  In Dec 2017, she has signed her next film titled Theeran Adhigaram Ondru to pair against Karthi.

Other work

On 20 February 2016 she started her own gym called F45 in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. She also bought a new apartment in Hyderabad of worth ?3 crore (US$450,000) to stay with her parents.

Archana Galrani, born October 10, 1989 better known by her stage name Sanjjanaa, is an Indian model turned film actress. She made her film debut with the Tamil film Oru Kadhal Seiveer 2006 and soon shot to fame with a controversial role in the Kannada film Ganda Hendthi 2006. Her supporting role in the 2008 Telugu film Bujjigadu directed by Puri Jagannadh brought her to limelight in the Telugu industry.

Sanjjanaa was born in 1989 and brought up in Bangalore. She is of Sindhi origin. When she was doing her PUC, she received her first modelling offer. She continued her studies while working as a part-time model.  She appeared in over 60 television advertisements the most notable being a Fasttrack advert with John Abraham. After appearing in a couple of advertisements, she signed her first film Ganda Hendathi in Kannada. Her first release, however, became the low-budget Tamil film, Oru Kadhal Seiveer, which met with negative reviews and poor box office returns. S. R. Ashok Kumar of The Hindu noted that Sanjjanaa, then credited under her birth name, was beautiful but has to work on her acting. Ganda Hendathi, a remake of the Hindi film Murder 2004, itself an adaptation of the Hollywood film Unfaithful 2002, was also panned by critics. Sanjjanaa's performance drew mixed reviews, with a reviewer from Nowrunning.com claiming that she utterly fails to deliver in the emotional sequences, while Sify wrote Sanjana has made a decent debut and she is extremely daring and does justice to her role.

In 2008, she made her Telugu film debut in Puri Jagannadh's Bujjigadu, in which she played a notable role alongside Prabhas and Trisha Krishnan. Although her role was small, the film gained her considerable attention and helped her growing in popularity. In 2010, she was first seen in the Telugu film Police Police, which was followed by a cameo role in Huduga Hudugi. Her final release of that year was Mylari that featured her opposite Shivrajkumar. It was the biggest milestone in her Kannada career as she was subsequently flooded with offers in Kannada cinema. Regarding her performance in the film, the Times of India wrote that she shines in her lively and mischievous role.

In January 2012 released her Malayalam debut she played one of the lead female roles in Casanovva, her maiden Malayalam venture. Reportedly the costliest Malayalam production of all time,co-starring Mohanlal and Shriya Saran, the film saw Sanjjana portray a salsa dancer. Director Rosshan Andrrews signed her for the particular role, since she was trained in salsa. Her last release is her second Malayalam film, the Shaji Kailas directed The King & the Commissioner, co-starring Mammooty and Suresh Gopi. Her upcoming films include Narasimha released and is a hit, Ondu Kshanadalli, Sagar and Rebel, all of which being Kannada projects. Also she is working on 2 Telugu films that include Yamaho Yama, and Jagan Nirdoshi which is made under the pretigious banner padmalaya films which is mahesh babus home production. Sanjjanaa has bagged a very strong role in Mahanadhi her first heroine centric magnum budget kannada film which she is filming for.

Manasvi Mamgai (born 10 October 1987) is an Indian Supermodel who was crowned Femina Miss India 2010, Miss Tourism International 2008 and Elite Model Look India in 2006. She represented India at the Miss World 2010 but was unplaced. She is making her Bollywood debut in Action Jackson directed by Prabhudeva opposite Ajay Devgn.

Mamgai was born in Delhi She did her schooling from Chandigarh. While at school she excelled in dancing and skating. By the age of 14 she won multiple state awards in dancing, including best dancer awards from the Shinchang Institute of Performing Arts and the Chandigarh Art Theatre, and multiple medals in skating. She was also active at the school magazine. She basically hails from Nainital,Uttarakhand.

Mamgai signed up with Elite Model Management India. In the same year she won the Elite Model Look India and also debuted at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, where she was chosen as one of 16 "New Faces Going Places".[citation needed] Since then she has walked the ramp for many top Indian designers,[citation needed] shot campaigns for Fair and Lovely, Tarun Tahiliani,[citation needed] Manish Malhotra[citation needed and many other, and shot fashion features for top Indian and international magazines.

Mamgai won the Miss Tourism International held in Malaysia on 31 December 2008. On April 30, 2010 she was crowned Femina Miss India, winning five subtitles in the pageant.[citation needed] She represented India at the Miss World 2010 but was unplaced.[citation needed]

Masumi Makhija is an award-winning actress born on 10th October, 1984 in Canada. Her family shifted to India, when she was one year old. Masumi began her career as a child artist appearing in television commercials and series. She is the sister of the music director Shona Urvashi.

Masumi made her debut in Bollywood with the film 'Chupke Se'. The actress was also seen in the other flicks like 'Maqbool'(2003), 'Woh Lamhe...' (2006), 'Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav' (2005), 'Dus Kahaniyaan' (2007), 'Saas Bahu Aur Sensex' (2008). The beautiful lady even appeared in one of the German flick titled 'Gate To Heaven' in the year 2003.

Geetu actual name is Gayathri Mohandas. Affectionately called Geetu by her family, the name was adopted as her screen name when she starred in her first movie "Onnu Mudhal Poojyam Vare" in 1986 with Mohanlal in the lead role. 

Geetu was five years old then and captured the hearts of malayalam fimgoers as a fatherless child who discovers a father in an anonymous telephone caller. She also acted in the Tamil remake of Fazils "Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku" (Malayalam) with Baby Shalini in the title role and Geetu was in the Tamil version "En Bommukutty Ammavukku", which was a top grosser.

After attending primary classes in Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Geethu moved to Canada with her family. During her school days, she won many prizes for painting. Studied Acting at Toronto University.

Won the Kerala State Award for Best Child Artiste for her role in Onnu Muthal Poojaym Vare (1986), in which the wide-eyed five year-old girl stole the audiences' heart.

Tied with Kavya Madhavan for the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performances in Syamaprasad's Akale (2004), and Pradeep Nair's "Oridam".

On 14 November 2009, she married cinematographer Rajeev Ravi. The wedding took place in Kochi, in Kerala, India.
