Madhavi is an Indian film actress known for her works in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Oriya and Bengali cinema. In a career spanning seventeen years, she has acted in three hundred films. She was one of the top lead actresses in the 1980s and 1990s.

Madhavi was born in Hyderabad, India to Sasirekha and Govinda Swamy, on 14 September 1962. She grew up with a sister and a brother, named Keerthi Kumari and Dhananjai respectively. She learnt Bharat Natyam from Uma Maheswari and folk dance from Mr. Bhatt from an early age and gave more than a thousand dance performances. She attended Stanley Girls High School in Hyderabad, Abids Branch.

Director Dasari Narayana Rao gave her a starring role in the Telugu film Thoorupu Padamara when she was a teenager. The film became a huge hit. K. Balachander then cast her in a supporting role in his Telugu film Maro Charithra (1978). She reprised her role in its Hindi remake Ek Duuje Ke Liye (1981), which became the top-grossing film of 1981. In both films, she showed remarkable sensitivity as a lonely wealthy woman who falls in love with Kamal Haasan's character.

She earned a Filmfare Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress.K. Balachander was so impressed with her performance in both films that he introduced her to the Tamil film industry with Thillu Mullu (1981) opposite Rajinikanth. By the end of the decade, she was starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the Hindi film Agneepath (1990).

Madhavi acted alongside Kamal Haasan in Raja Paarvai, Tik Tik Tik, Kaakki Sattai and Mangamma Sabadham appearing in a swimsuit in all the films. Her films with Rajinikanth include Garjanai, Thambikku Entha Ooru, Un Kannil Neer Vazhindal and Viduthalai. She showed her ability in movies like Enga Oor Kannagi, and Nirabaraadhi. She also played Zeenat Aman's role from the Hindi hit film Insaf Ka Tarazu) (1980) in the Telugu remake "Edi Dharmam Edi Nyayam" (1982) and the Tamil remake Needhi Dhevan Mayakkam (1982).

She appeared in many Malayalam films especially in those starring superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal. She played the Zeenat Aman role from the Hindi hit film Don in the Malayalam remake titled Shobaraj (1986). Her portrayal of Unniyarcha in the National Award-winning movie Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha was critically appreciated and is often recognised as one of the best roles in her career.

Her portrayal as a mother who met her end with leukaemia in Akashadoothu won her the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress and Filmfare Award for Best Actress for 1993. Other notable films include Ormakkayi, Changatham, Novemberinte Nashtam and Nombarathi Poovu. She was later seen in supporting roles in films such as Aksharam and Aayiram Naavulla Ananthan. Most of her author-backed roles were in Malayalam films. She has won three Kerala State Film Awards, one for Best Actress and two for Second Best Actress.

She acted in a number of films with Telugu star Chiranjeevi. Her first movie with Chiranjeevi was Intlo Ramaiah Veedhilo Krishnaiah in 1982. She acted again with Chiranjeevi in the movie Khaidi. Her last movie in Telugu was Big Boss (another Chiranjeevi film).
She also acted in a number of Kannada movies alongside popular Kannada actors including Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Anant Nag and Ambareesh.With Rajkumar she acted in many commercially successful and critically acclaimed movies like Haalu Jenu, Bhagyada Lakshmi Baramma, Anuraga Aralithu, Shruthi Seridaaga, Jeevana Chaitra, Aakasmika, Odahuttidavaru, etc. Her performance in Haalu Jenu and Malaya Marutha was widely acclaimed.

In 1996, her spiritual teacher Swami Rama arranged her marriage to one of his followers, a pharmaceutical businessman named Ralph Sharma, who is half-Indian and half-German. Ralph first met his Guru, Swami Rama at the age of 23 at the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy., whereas Madhavi first met Guru Swami Rama, in 1995. She married within a few weeks on 14 February 1996 of their introduction. They have three daughters and live in New Jersey.

Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati (2 December 1960 – 23 September 1996), known popularly as Silk Smitha, was an Indian film artiste who worked predominantly in the South Indian languages. She entered the film industry as an extra actress, and first got noticed for her role as "Silk" in the 1979 Tamil film Vandichakkaram. She became the most sought-after erotic actress in the early 1980s and in a career spanning 17 years, she appeared in over 450 films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. On September 23, 1996, she was found dead in her apartment in Chennai, apparently having committed suicide.

Vadlapati was born in a poor family in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. She left school after her fourth standard (in India, at about 8 years of age) due to the family's financial constraints.She left her married life and ran off to Chennai. Her striking looks burdened her with uninvited attention, and her family married her off at a very young age. When she was ill-treated by her husband and in-laws, she ran away to Madras (now known as Chennai) and started living with an aunt.
Vijayalakshmi started as a touch-up artist for a B-grade actress, and soon got a break in small character roles. Later she was discovered by Tamil director Vinu Chakravarthy at a flour mill. He renamed her Smitha, and took her under his wing: his wife taught her English, and arranged for her to learn dancing from another teacher. Smitha made her debut in the Malayalam film Inaye Thedi in 1979, though soon, due to her marked sex appeal, she switched to roles of cabaret dancers and vamps and inevitably found herself type casted. After garnering much notice and acclaim with her first major role in the Tamil film Vandichakkaram, in 1979, Smitha assumed the screen name "Silk", after her character's name in the movie. However after it became a big hit, she could not escape typecasting, severely limiting her range throughout her career.

Silk Smitha went on to star in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and a few Hindi films. Her dance numbers, semi-nude scenes and bold performances in films like Moondru Mugam made her the ultimate symbol of sensuality in South Indian cinema. Her item numbers in films like Amaran, Hallimeshtru Kannada were also celebrated at the box office. Some film critics, historians and journalists have referred to her as a "soft porn" actress. A vast majority of her movies are considered 'softcore' by Indian standards and a common theme is her playing a freakishly strong agent in skimpy bikinis beating up huge thugs. Her acting prowess did not go completely unnoticed and in her rare non-sexual roles, she impressed critics and audiences, such as her portrayal of a wife hurt by her husband's infidelity in Alaigal Oivathillai (1981). One of her films, Layanam (1989), has earned a cult status in the Indian adult film industry, and was dubbed in numerous languages including, Hindi as Reshma Ki Jawani (2002), which too acquired cult status. Her most respected film is Moondram Pirai by Balu Mahendra, remade in Hindi as Sadma, with much of the top-drawer cast, including Sridevi, Kamal Hassan, and Silk Smitha reprising their roles.

Such was her audience-drawing power that, at the peak of her career, according to Tamil film historian, Randor Guy, "Films that had lain in cans for years were sold by the simple addition of a Silk Smitha song.”.

In 1996, Smitha was found dead in her Chennai apartment. In the prior year she had been trying to move her career to become a film producer. Financial problems, a disillusionment in love and an alcohol dependency apparently led to depression. It is suspected that Smitha committed suicide by poisoning herself.

In 2011, a biopic on Silk Smitha's life, titled The Dirty Picture, was produced in Hindi by Ekta Kapoor. The movie was directed by Milan Luthria  and starred Vidya Balan (who later won Best Actress) as Smitha along with Emraan Hashmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor. The movie was released on Smitha's birthday on December 2, 2011 and received favourable reviews. The same day, The Times of India published her top 10 movie scenes in its Top 10 videos.The Dirty Picture's Telugu dubbed version released in theatres across Andhra Pradesh has broken a 25-year record in box office collections (in dubbed films category). Reports suggest that the family of Silk Smitha, on whom the film is based, is not happy with the movie. Silk Smitha's brother V Naga Vara Prasad claimed the film was made without the family's consent. After the claim, Ekta Kapoor immediately changed her statement by quoting The Dirty Picture is not based on Silk Smitha's life.

More recently, Bollywood actress Kavita Radheshyam did a Tribute photo shoot for Silk Smitha. Kavita Radheshyam earlier came into Controversy when she did a semi nude photo shoot for Animal Rights, In this tribute Kavita quoted Silk to be a very down to earth woman who helped people in need.

Murali Mohan Maganti (Telugu: మురళి మోహన్ మాగంటి) (born 24 June 1940) is an Indian film actor, producer, politician and business executive from Telugu cinema. In 1973, Murali Mohan debuted in Jagame Maya (1973), produced by Poornachandra Rao Atluri. He gained recognition with the 1974 film Tirupati, directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. He has acted in over 350 feature films. He has served in various positions in the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation. He was the Honorary President of the Telugu Movie Artists Association until the elections in 2015.

In 1980 he formed his own film production company, Jayabheri Arts, with his brother Kishore. His first film as producer was Varala Abbay, directed by Raja Chandra. This was Murali Mohan's 100th film. The company produced 25 films, which include the blockbuster film Athadu.

He is the Chairman of the construction company Jayabheri Group. He has also been active in politics for the Telugu Desam Party. He contested in the 15th Loksabha elections in 2009 as the TDP candidate from Rajahmundry parliamentary constituency of Andhra Pradesh, which eventually lost to the Indian National Congress candidate Vundavalli Aruna Kumar by just 2,147 votes. In 2014, he won the 16th Loksabha elections as a member of Parliament from Rajahmundry.

Murali Mohan Maganti (born Maganti Raja Babu) was born on 24 June 1940 in Chataparru to Maganti Madhava Rao, an Indian freedom fighter. He did his schooling in Eluru. He shifted gears in 1963 and started his own business dealing in electrical motors and oil engines. He then ventured into stage acting in Vijayawada.

Murali Mohan is married to Vijaya Lakshsmi, with whom he has a daughter, Madhu Bindhu, and a son, Ram Mohan.

The Murali Mohan Charitable Trust provides free education for people who secure 85% in both SSC and intermediate and below 10,000 rank in EAMCET or any other preferred entrance tests. The students will be taken into consideration only after full-fledged screening for their financial status. Since its inception the trust has adopted nearly 1,000 students of engineering and medicine.

Kodi Ramakrishna is an Indian film director and writer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, and a few Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films.One of the prolific film director in Telugu, Kodi Ramakrishna has directed a wide range of films, in a variety of genres such as drama films; Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya (1982), Mangamma Gari Manavadu (1984), Thalambralu (1986), Aahuthi (1987), Bharatamlo Bala Chandrudu (1988), Station Master (1988), Muddula Mavayya (1989), Maa Aavida Collector (1996), Pelli (1997), and Dongaata (1997).

Other notable works of Rama Krishna are Social problem films; such as, Ankusham (1989), 20va Shatabdam (1990), Bharat Bandh (1991), and Sathruvu (1991). He directed Spy films; such as, Gudachari No.1 (1983), and Gudachari 117 (1989). Ramakrishna has directed supernatural Fantasy films; such as, Ammoru (1995), Devi (1999), Devullu (2000), Devi Putrudu (2001), Anji (2004), and Arundhati (2009) which won ten state Nandi Awards, and two Filmfare Awards South, and became the second highest grossing Telugu film for that year.

Kodi Ramakrishna is from Palakollu, in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. His career in the Indian cinema industry spans more than thirty years.
