Ambika Mohan is a Malayalam film actress known for supporting and character roles. She has done more than 300 films till now and most of them are memorable ones though she has portrayed only small roles. Kamal’s Meghamalhar in 2001 was her debut movie, where she played Rajeevan's sister in law. After that she became an integral part of Malayalam cinema, appearing in over 100 movies in the past 13 years. Her younger daughter Rhomy Sreekumar is a television anchor of Amrita TV who won the channel’s Vanitha Rathnam title in 2008. She is married to younger brother of noted playback singer Madhu Balakrishnan.

Ambika Mohan was born at Panamanna, Ottapalam. Her father worked in the Electricity board, Pallivasal power house, Munnar. For the same reason Ambika’s childhood days were spent at the beautiful Munnar. Ambika is married to Mohan, an engineer of Kerala State Electricity board. The couple has two daughters of whom the younger one, Rhomy is a television anchor of Amrita television.

Ambika appears in television serials and telefilms apart from movies. Mothiram telecasted on Doordarshan and Umma ariyatha katha on Kairali TV are her noted television works. She has also appeared in a few music videos, particularly devotional album songs. She regularly appears in many stage shows and has also been featured in many popular television ads too. Occasionally she anchors television programs too. Paarijatham, Akasha Dhoot, Geethanjali, Amala and Bala Ganapathi are her noted television serials.

She is mostly paired with leading character artists of Malayalam cinema and plays the mother’s role of almost all young actors. Her recent movies include - Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal, 1983, Parayan Baakki vachathu, Prabhuvinte Makkal, Geethaanjali, Banking Hours 10 to 4 , Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Cinema company, Bharya athra pora,  Sound Thoma, Proprietors: Kammath & Kammath, Red wine and Sringara Velan.
